Keralite – A photographic journey through Kerala
Home to over 33 million, Kerala has the highest ranking of human development for the country where women enjoy high social standing, and education and healthcare are well distributed. There’s also a pointed environmental consciousness in the region. This has come in part from the rise of Communist administration in the region as well as cultural aspects of the local community that afford women a position of financial power.
This photography collection hoped to capture, celebrate and explore the reflection of these aspects of Keralan society framed through the daily life of my friend’s family group living an hour or so out of Kochin city.
